What to Expect

The aroma of this tour would take us to northwest Gran Canaria.

The fishing village of Agaete is one of the most beautiful places in the northwest of Gran Canaria. Open to the Atlantic Ocean, this municipality offers to its visitors a contrast of landscapes. The sea and the Valley make this region one of the most beautiful countryside in the island. The Valley gets to the centre of the island and also has its own microclimate.

At this stunning Valley, picture a family tradition of homemade coffee makers in a farmhouse, hidden in the valley and surrounded by the silence of the massive cliffs of Tamadaba. Fruit trees and avocado trees up to five metres high are the companions of the coffee trees brought across from Cuba and Ethiopia. In this valley grows the one and only artisanal coffee in Europe, and it is here where the origins of coffee growing in the Agaete Valley are documented. From which plant does coffee really come from? How does it look? How and why did it arrive in Gran Canaria? Take a walk with us through this plantation, while hearing about this family’s story, together with tasting samples of this naturally sun-dried coffee.

As our aromatic coffee break has been explained and tasted, It is time for our guests to find out a bit about the wine produced in the island. The best place to taste, feel and drink our wines will be at Bandama Caldera in Monte Lentiscal, where our viticulture was born. It’s a wonderful experience to walk on the volcano’s sides through the vineyards as the land creaks under your feet. That’s the volcanic land, a constant cracking at every step that reminds us that the lava from the natural monument of Bandama once flowed under our feet. This natural monument of Bandama reaches a total height of 574 metres. Nowadays it is one of the most important wine ethnographic heritages of the island.

The wine cellars that are in this volcanic route we have to highlight the marvelous wine press from one of them which is 200 years old amongst other antiques, real treasures of our wine history. This wine cellar takes us back to the wines origins in Monte Lentiscal. Red and white wines of great quality, distinguished with several awards. The End of the tour.
